August!   Temperatures are soaring!  It’s perfect weather to stay in the air-conditioned indoors and quilt. 

 

 

Ladies, start looking through your recipes.  We’re planning another Salad/Dessert Luncheon for the 2nd week of September.  More details later.

Villages Quilting Guild – August 7


The monthly meeting will be held Tuesday, August 7th at 7 PM at Laurel Manor.  Our guest speaker will be Mary Sorenson.   

 

At the September 4th guild meeting, tickets ($15) will be sold for the Oct. 23rd “Sit & Sew” with instructor Jennie Rayment.  This event will be held at the Pimlico Rec Center.  For more information about Jennie Rayment, just click on http://www.jennierayment.com/

Reminder:  It’s time to pay for the bus trip ($24) to the Jacksonville Quilt Show.

* On October 16, Lorene Gruber will be teaching a class called the Funky Rooster.  This one will tickle your funny bone.  

 

* In November, Maureen Girardin will be teaching a sweatshirt jacket class.  Gorgeous!

FYI – The “Notion Commotion Shop Hop” is on August 17-18-19.  Six shops will be participating:  Whippoorwill (Summerfield); Quilter's Dream (Leesburg); Quilting Friends (Mt. Dora); Tomorrows Treasures (Ocala); Quilt Shop of DeLand (DeLand); Material Girl (Apopka).  Sign up is $5 prior to the hop, or $6 during the hop.  You will receive a free notion at each store.  Also each store will offer special sales. 

 

Also, please note that The Quilt Shop of Deland is at a new location.  Their new address is 115 W. Rich Avenue, just 2 blocks north of their old location.
