Chatham Quilters – December 2007

 

 


Dear Chatham Quilters:

It’s that busy, hectic, fun time of year with parties, family, friends and even an unfinished project or two that we plan to finish in the New Year.  As you reflect on 2007 may it bring a smile to your face and a warm, cozy feeling to your heart.  May your holidays be special!

Tuesday, December 4

The Quilting Guild of The Villages will celebrate the season with an ice cream social at 7 p.m. at Laurel Manor.  Doors will open at 6:45.  Remember your ticket (or $5 at the door) and a pair of scissors that will cut fabric.  Be sure to bring your Village ID and wear your nametag.

P. S.  No Guild meeting in January.

 

December 4 – A deposit of at least 50% (payable to Chatham Quilters) is due. at this time for the Chatham Retreat - April 1, 2, 3, 2008 - See Joy Lynch for details (753-6545 or lynch@thevillages.net).

 

Tuesday, December 11

BLOTTO drawing for November was postponed until this date.  Please remember to turn in your blocks.

 

Tuesday, December 4, 11, 18 – 2008 Dues

Dues of $18 are being collected.  Your check should be made payable to Chatham Quilters.  This will cover your Guild Dues and your Chatham Dues and includes raffle tickets for the 2009 Quilt Show.  One check will be written from Chatham’s treasury to cover your Guild dues.  IF you will not be rejoining, please notify President Ilga Pivetz (259-5833 or impivetz@aol.com).  If you have not had your picture taken for the pictorial directory, see Kay Hasson.

 

Saturday, December 8 – Christmas Parade – Polo Field – 11:30 a.m.

Many, many thanks to Lorene Gruber for decorating a golf cart to represent Chatham.

 

We also say thank you to Lorene for putting together a quilt for Chatham’s retiring Rec Center supervisor and to Carol Yohn for long arm quilting of the finished quilt.  You are special people!

Chatham Christmas Party

  • Bring a Finger Food to share.
  • A $5 gift exchange IF you wish to participate -- it does not need to be a quilting or sewing related item.
  • Secret Sisters will be revealed – have you guessed, yet?

Tuesday, December 18 – Quilting as usual and last get together until January.
