Chatham Quilters -- July 2008
The revisions to the by-laws were
reviewed, and additional changes are being made. The by-law committee
is working on these changes and as soon as they become available, you will
receive a copy by e-mail.
The Quilt Show will be here before you
know it! Each chapter is asked to donate items for the Silent
Auction. Chatham is asked to donate 9 items -- this figure is based on
1 item per 10 members, and since we have 90 members, that means that we
should donate a minimum of 9 items. You may have something you made
previously that you do not want and are willing to part with it. Kay
will take a count soon. If you live in the North during the
summer, please e-mail Kay at ekhas@thevillages.net
and let her know that you will have an item to contribute.
Ricky Tims and Alex Anderson will be
coming to Ocala for a Quilt Seminar on March 26-28, 2009. Special
rate for a group of 2-9 registrations, and a better rate for a group of 10+
registrations. There is also an evening lecture only on Friday
for $15. More information is available at www.rickytims.com/seminars.html
. You can also go to www.thequiltshow.com
to get more information about Ricky and Alex's new venture of programs on
the internet, and view one 63-minute program for free.
Also a reminder that Chatham's retreat
dates are March 17-19, 2009, the week before the Ricky Tims/Alex
Anderson seminar.
Once again the area quilts shops are sponsoring a SHOP HOP on August
8-9-10. Participating shops are Tomorrow's Treasures (Ocala),
Quilter's Dream (Leesburg), Material Girl (Apopka), Quilt Shop of Deland
(Deland), and Clermont Sewing & Quilting (Clermont).
The monthly evening meeting will be on Tuesday, August 5th at Laurel
Manor. The guest speaker will be from Sew Cherished, the new
quilt/needlework shop in Fruitland Park.
Happy Quilting to all,
Joanne
