December Newsletter

CHATHAM HOLIDAY PARTY will be the morning of December 2.  Bring any type of goodie you like.  Also, we will have a $10 gift exchange; in order to participate in this exchange, you must bring a gift.  Participation is optional.   Also at the party, your SECRET SISTER will be revealed.

The GUILD HOLIDAY PARTY will be held on December 2 at our evening meeting at Laurel Manor.  The charge for admission is a plate of appetizers for at least 10 people.

JANUARY SOCIAL:  So we don't go into sweet-tooth withdrawal, our Social Committee is planning our next social on January 6.  We will be inviting the quilters of Sunset Pointe to join us.  More info will be provided later.

NEW OFFICERS (Chatham Chapter):  November 4th was election day at Chatham.  Congratulations to our newly elected officers:  Margo McClary, Vice President, and Pam Healy, Treasurer.  Many thanks to outgoing officers Marilyn Crosby and Joy Reynolds for all their hard work the past two years.

NEW OFFICERS (Guild):  The results from the election at the November 4th evening meeting are as follows:   Cheryle Hahnfeldt, President, and Sharon Hall, Vice President.  There still is a need for a Guild Secretary; if you would like to volunteer for this position, see Kay.

DUES ($18) for 2009 are now due.   Your 2009 membership card allows you free admission to the quilt show.

RETREAT:  Your final balance is due December 16.

UFO CHALLENGE:  The final UFO is due December 9.

Many thanks to everyone who contributed items for the Quilt Show Auction.

QUILT SHOW REMINDERS
  • Maureen Girardin needs to know if you plan on selling items in the boutique by December 2; she also needs an approximate number of items you will have for sale so she can get enough price tags.
  • If you are selling items in the boutique, they should be priced to include the 7% (tax will not be added separately).  Also, remember that the guild keeps 10% of the sales price.
  • If you are selling quilt magazines, they must be tied together in groups of six (6) and priced at $3.25.  When tying the magazines together, you must use strips of fabric -- those tied with string will not be accepted.
