Summer continues with a separation of members attending to the other aspects of life, like family, friends, new adventures and old responsibilities - our intention is to have a brief way of staying connected, and had hoped to post some pictures, but unfortunately I'm a crafter not a computer techie, and haven't been able to get those sent to me out of the "webloc" state that they are in - even with online computer help. Converting language between cameras and computers isn't as simple, yet, as they want us to think. I'll keep working on it.
The 4th family reunion and readying my 96-year-old mother-in-law for a family wedding she has to attend this Sat., cut into my sewing and painting time, so I won't be sharing my creative accomplishments with you until I can get back into finishing them! I hope others have enjoyed some measure of success with their projects, and still would like to hear what you are doing.
THIS MEETING:
Members concentrated on the continuing mystery project, being just about done at this time. The reason for the mystery will be understood when we are able to share the information later this year. The Guild Ice Cream Social meeting was a success, thank you to all our members who came early and helped out. We appreciate the willingness, and you had a good time and got some ice cream too.
NEXT MEETING:
I think everyone is ready for this play time. Candace is going to bring some examples of her own items, and show us all the creative ways to embellish simple t-shirts to better clothing items with easy to use products. There are limitless ways to expand on what will be learned at this demo program.
FUTURE SAVINGS:
On July 26th, Quilters Dream in Leesburg is having a "Villages Quilting Day." If you're lucky enough to be from The Villages, you'll get 25% off regular priced items in the store. Fabrics have to be 1 yd. minimum cuts, but this is quite a good deal. Maybe you can get a sign up sheet for a car pool to go over!
QUILT CRUISERS:
If you are one of the excited bunch cruising next February, here are some important points for your interest. If you are not, you can skip this part!
1. The first payment will be taken from your credit card approx. July 15th.
2. If you need medical insurance, or want cancellation insurance (approx. $59.00), please give Bunny a call now (1-815-715-8483) (email: buno55@comcast.net) to arrange for them. NOTE: some credit card companies offer travel insurance of their own, you may want to check into that.
3. Everyone is automatically signed up for (that means will be charged for) 3 projects during the cruise. Two being taught by Judy Hansen, and one by Joan Shay. The projects being offered were given to us in the original information. If you know that you will not be doing one of these, you must let Bunny know, to be removed from the supply list and the charge for the kit.
4. There will be a cost (unknown at this time) for the group bus ride to the pier. We are confirming the location, but likely the 466 Wal-Mart lot.
5. Please send Jeannie an email confirming you are on the list for the cruise and have received this information. If you have further questions, please call her:
