Membership in the Quilting Guild of The Villages
The Guild embraces as many forms and levels of quilting as there are quilts. If quilting is something you have done for many years, or maybe want to learn but have not had the time, we have a place for you.
By joining one of our 14 Chapters, you automatically become a member of the Quilting Guild of The Villages. This will give you the opportunity to enter a quilt into the biennial quilt show, held in January of odd-numbered years. It also means you may attend any or all of the classes that are offered during the year (listed under Learning Ops). Nonresidents and visitors with short-term Guest passes are not eligible for membership. However, a resident may attend two Guild meetings before joining a chapter. Visiting relatives and friends may attend a meeting so long as they have a valid Guest pass to authorize entrance into a recreation center.
Click on a Chapter name at the left for a brief description and for any specific membership requirements, their locations and meeting times. All but three of the Chapters meet on Tuesday mornings, from 8:00-8:30 a.m. to 11:00-11:30 a.m. The exceptions are Allamanda and Bradenton, both of which meet on Tuesday afternoons at 12:30 p.m.; and Patchwork Garden, which meets on Monday evenings at 6:30 p.m.
Every Chapter has its own personality. Some aspiring members visit a few chapters before joining; others look for one near their home or because of the specific talents within a group. Space in some facilities is limited. If you are interested in joining the Guild, or to find out which chapters are open to new members, please call the Guild's Membership chair, Joy Lynch, at 352.753.6545 or email her at:
