The Quilting Guild of The Villages is governed by four officers (elected by the full membership), the President of each Chapter, and one member-at-large from each Chapter.  If an Executive Board member is unable to attend a meeting, s/he may send a substitute who then has voting privileges for that specific meeting.

The Villages is not your ordinary retirement community.  Located in central Florida, we are a quick 75-minute drive north from Orlando International Airport; and 30-45 minutes south of Ocala.  About 1.5 times the size of Manhattan (with some 60,000+ golf carts and miles of special-use pathways), everything is just a golf cart drive away from home.  That includes an abundance of beautifully appointed recreation centers, pools, grocery stores, boutiques, doctors and even our own hospital. If you have yet to visit, check out this unique lifestyle choice at:

The Quilting Guild of The Villages provides the resources needed to create a fun, productive and educational quilting environment for our members. In keeping with our status as a 501(c)(4) nonprofit organization, the Guild and its members are generous in their donations of quilts as well as other goods and monites to support those in need.  Quilts of Valor, Quilts for Kids, the Florida Sheriff's Youth Camp programs, Guardian Ad Litem and many other deserving organizations are familiar with QGOTV.

With more than 890 members and still counting, we are organized into 17 working chapters.  Members meet at a number of Villages recreation centers for weekly activities, including individual and group quilt projects.  They often plan chapter-specific events that range from classroom instruction to a shop hop or a quilt retreat. The first Tuesday of each month, the Guild hosts a meeting for the full membership with guest lecturers, trunk shows and more.  Guild meetings bring in nationally recognized teachers and quilt artists who speak on a myriad of topics.  The first Wednesday of each month typically finds those guest artists conducting workshops at the Savannah Center; the third Wednesday at SeaBreeze Regional Recreation Center is set aside for in-house teachers and BEE-Keepers.  We also have Sunday events at Sterling Heights Recreation Center; the fourth Sunday of every month is a Sew-In when any member may bring a project to work on (see Learning Ops for further information).   Guild and Chapter activities provide a broad forum for the exchange of knowledge and the opportunity for members to learn new techniques or to share their skills.

Membership is open to all residents of The Villages (i.e., homeowners and renters with valid ID).
