The Executive Board of the Quilting Guild of The Villages met April 16th at Saddlebrook Recreation Center. The meeting was called to order by President Alice Nicholas at 3:01 p.m.

Opening Comments: President Nicholas held Roll Call. All chapters were represented except Sterling Stitchers who were on retreat.

The Secretary's Report was accepted as published.

Lucie Verbois gave the Treasurer's Report.

Ruth Mazurski gave the Program Committee Report. She thanked Chatham for hosting this morning's trunk show with Pat Knoechel.  Pat has confirmed for next year but no date has been set. Ruth hopes to obtain a larger meeting room for Pat's next visit.  $204 was raised; $102 will be donated to the Food Bank, $102 to St Vincent De Paul. Checks will be presented at the May 7th Guild Meeting. Nancy Mahoney will be here in May for a lecture and two workshops.
Linda and Gene Wade will demonstrate treadle sewing machines in June, and July 2nd will be QGOTV"s 20th Birthday Bash. Jo Loder from Allamanda will demonstrate a Make and Take.

Marilyn Paluszak, Webmaster, reported that she is working on a copyright article for the QGOTV website.  Under Long Range Planning, Marilyn talked about the Chapter President's focus group that will be held on Friday April 19th.

Membership is now at 807 members. The Guilds embroidered shirt logo has been standardized. Guild shirts can be ordered at Custom Apparel and Gifts in the Southern Trace Shopping Plaza.

Ann Moroz reported on MarketPlace 2014.  Twenty five vendors will be occupying 43 booths at the Wildwood Community Center.  Entrance fee will be $5 for members, $7 for non-members and free to volunteers who donate 2 hours of their time. Ann asked for a volunteer to coordinate volunteer activities:,interested members are to contact her. Ann asked the Board to have a Chinese Auction on the second floor of the Community Center with the proceeds going to ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis). The Board voted and passed the suggestion.  Ann is also looking into providing Shuttle Service as the Community Center is not golf cart accessible. This will cost around $600.

Sharon Musch, Showcase 2015 co-chair , asked that all chapters give her their vote on the Charity Quilt and Doll questions from the March Executive Board meeting. Alice Nicholas read the proposal from Sandie Devries regarding the doll question. It was decided that the Chapters had enough time to already decide on the issue. Sharon also asked that the chapters hand in their choices for the committee that they would like to work on for the 2015 show. The steering committee will determine criteria if there is more than one chapter interested in a particular committee.  Some members expressed frustration at the legibility of pencil writing on the quilt judging forms. This issue will be discussed by the steering committee.

President Nicholas read a proposal by Micki MacCumbee regarding standing rules. This proposal was passed on to the Standing Rules and By-Laws Committee. Heather Farnell asked for a volunteer to record the May 21st Executive Board minutes.  Joyce McKee volunteered.

The meeting was adjourned at 4:10 p.m.

Respectively submitted,
Heather Farnell, Secretary
