The Executive Board of The Quilting Guild of The Villages met May 15, 2012 at Saddlebrook Recreation Center. The meeting was called to order by President Alice Nicholas at 3:05 pm.
After roll call, the Secretary's report was read and accepted.
The Treasurer's report was distributed by e-mail and Alice summarized the report.
President Nicholas suggested dispensing with reading the Treasurer's report at monthly Guild meetings as non-members are often in attendance. Jeanette Flint made a motion we no longer read the report but notify members it is available. This was seconded by Judy Porter and carried.
Vice President Micki MacCumbee noted classes/workshops with openings and asked for help filling the sessions.

Joyce Lynch, Membership Chair, reported we have 723 members.
Alice thanked all those who are continuing to make this guild successful.
Ann Moroz reported that she is continuing to look at other venues for Marketplace 2014. Suggestions are welcome.
Carole Schroeder reported on Showcase 2013. Captiva chapter has assumed responsibility for publicity. Carole reminded us that the side drapes should be completed and turned in by November 1st. Currently we have twelve vendors and the new quilt hanging system has been delivered.
Joy Lynch reported she has contacted the Mark Twain Library relative to taking the Guild History Scrapbooks. She has not heard back and she will continue to follow-up.
There was continued discussion on how to encourage more local teachers. The program committee has started to discuss this topic. Each chapter should poll their members and report the following to Micki (VP@QGOTV.org)
a. who would be willing to teach
b. what topic/skill they would like to teach
c. what their teaching schedule might be
Prospective teachers should be willing to provide a sample of their project and a supply list.
It was decided the Executive Board will continue to meet throughout the summer months.
The was MUCH discussion on the best way to share knowledge and activities of the various chapters, especially with the new chapters. It was decided that at the June Executive Board meeting, each chapter should be prepared to report three items that you are doing in your Chapter. Please print out 13 copies of your report.
Again the presidents are asked to send a note to the Webmaster, Marilyn Paluszak, (Webmaster@QGOTV.org) of what charity or charities your Chapter has chosen for this year. This will be published on the website so other chapters can be aware and avoid duplication. Please include your Chapter name, your Chapter President's name and phone number on this note.
The Board was reminded doors to the Guild meeting room will open at 6:30 for the 7:00 p.m. meeting.
Regina Wolf moved we adjourn, seconded by Carolyn Held and carried.
Respectfully submitted,
Joyce McKee, Secretary
