Quilting Guild of The Villages June 2013 Executive Board Meeting
The Executive Board of the Quilting Guild of The Villages met June 18th at Saddlebrook Recreation Center. The meeting was called to order at 3:03 pm by President Alice Nicholas.
After roll call, Ruth Mazurski gave the program Committee Report. She announced the upcoming programs and classes:
July Guild Meeting - Sit and Sew and Guild Birthday Recognition
August Guild Meeting - Sew Mini Things from Mt. Dora
August 7th class on lighted Christmas tree wall hanging; there are still openings
September Guild Meeting-Demo Program Each chapter will provide a demo. (14 demos) Chapter presidents will be provided with a book with all patterns. The patterns will also be available on the QGOTV website. As there is only 90 minutes allotted for speakers, members will not be able to visit each demo. Ruth will be sending out an email in August detailing the chapter demos in order that members can plan which demos to visit. Guild teachers will be having enrollment for their classes in the hour before the Guild meeting. (6:00-7:00pm)
November Guild meeting - Juanita Jaeger
Marilyn reported as that she was away; it will be several days before the QGOTV website will be up to date. She also reported that the Long Range Planning Committee will be meeting with Chapter treasurers on Friday, June 21st, at 9:30 a.m. in the Jasmine room of the Hibiscus Recreation Center.
Joy Lynch reported that membership was now at 819 members. She showed the board the 20 year pins that will be presented to the members who have reached this milestone. She also stated that since there will be 96 more members having their 20th Guild anniversary by 2022 that new pins needed to be ordered. The board passed the motion to order 100 new pins. Joy asked members to think about a new 10 year anniversary pin modeled after the 20 year pin as the guild will be out of 10 year pins in the next two years.
Marilyn will be sending out an email to the Committee to Review By-laws and Standing Rules to get them back on track.
