The regular meeting of the Quilting Guild of The Villages was held June 5, 2012 at Laurel Manor Recreation Center.
The regular meeting of The Quilting Guild of The Villages was called to order by President Alice Nicholas at 7 p.m.
The Pledge of Allegiance was recited by the membership.
The Secretary's report was accepted as read.
President Nicholas announced that the Treasurer's report will no longer be read at the meetings but is available from each Chapter President and the Guild Treasurer for review by any member.
All members, by Chapter, were then welcomed to the Guild game night.
Micki MacCumbee, Program Chair, introduced Linda Hungerford, a new Villages resident and author of First Time Quiltmaking.
Left/Right/Center game was played by the members with fabric squares and strips as prizes which were donated by a Villager. The leftover fabric from this (and the upcoming August meeting) will be donated to the two newest Chapters (Sterling Stitchers and Captiva Divas) for their charity projects.
Dale Angione announced the Quilt Shop of Deland is looking for 20 quilts and/or wearable art pieces to show at the first annual quilt show in downtown Deland, September 29th and 30th. If anyone has an award winning quilt they would like to show, contact Dale Angione at 750-9168 or Judy at The Quilt Shop of Deland at 386 734-8782.
There were eleven Show-N-Tell participants and four 50/50 winners.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:40 p.m.
