The regular meeting of the Quilting Guild of The Villages was held April 3, 2012 at Laurel Manor Recreation Center.
The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by President Alice Nicholas.
The Pledge of Allegiance was recited by the membership.
The Secretary's minutes were accepted as read.
In the Treasurer's absence, Alice Nicholas gave a summary of the Treasurer's report.
Alice then welcomed each chapter individually as well as Special Committee Chairpersons.
The Charity Quilt for the 2013 Showcase has been appraised by Teddy Pruitt, a certified quilt appraiser, and the value of the quilt has been established at $2,225.00.
Jeannine Haller has only three Challenge Quilt packets left for those wishing to participate in the 2013 Challenge.
Micki MacCumbee, Program Chair, noted changes and additions to the programs. Pat Knoechel, Eleanor Burns sister, will be giving a presentation at Bridgeport Recreation Center on April 17th from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Attendees are asked to bring a non-perishable food item for the food pantry.
Micki then introduced our evening's speaker, Ellen Lindner, a quilt artist who spoke on Adventures in Color and had samples of her vibrant quilts.
There were 37 participants in Show and Tell and five 50/50 winners.
President Nicholas reminded the membership that beginning next month, the doors to the meeting room will not be open until 6:30 p.m.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:40 pm.
