The regular meeting of the Quilting Guild of The Villages was held July 3, 2012 at Laurel Manor Recreation Center.
The regular meeting of The Quilting Guild of The Villages was called to order by President Alice Nicholas at 7 p.m.
The Pledge of Allegiance was recited by the members.
Members then enjoyed an ice cream social where they could add toppings to their ice cream.
The Secretary's report was accepted as read.
President Nicholas reminded the attendees that the Treasurer's report will no longer be read at meetings but is available for review by any member.
The President then welcomed each Chapter by name and also welcomed our guests from The Villages Machine Embroidery Club.
Micki MacCumbee, Program Chair, announced the Sudoku program for the August meeting. She had a demo of the project we will be working on.
Terry Manning, President of The Villages Machine Embroidery Club then introduced members of that club who provided a trunk show of their creative work which included wearables, home decorating , quilts and wall hangings. Terry noted their meetings are the third Monday from 1-3 p.m. at La Hacienda and invited the guild members to visit.
Alice then announced that Mary Ann Schulz is the interim president of the Captiva Chapter due to the resignation of Sue Woodbury.
Also announced was the death Mackey Nylin, our Guild's first president who was residing in Oklahoma.
There were eight Show and Tell participants and six 50/50 winners.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:30 p.m.
