Lucie Verbois gave the Treasurer’s Report. She reminded all chapters to make sure that they send her a list of all donations; quilts plus any financial donations.

Micki MacCumbee reported on Programs. The Garage sale was a success. Micki gave a special thanks to the Quilting B’s, the Piecemaker Quilters, and the Captiva Divas for all their help. Patty Hempen’s lecture in March was cancelled as there were no sign-ups for her workshop.Instead, Kay Smith of Country Road Quilters will show her Seminole style piecework and Beth Landas of Friendship Star will show three of her Hoffman Challenge quilts. Micki reminded members to check out the QGOTV website for a calendar of upcoming events including a retreat by the Fiber Art Chix being held from April 8th to the 11th.

Carole Schroeder reported on the Showcase. Judging went well last week; there were 220 quilts including Challenge quilts. Several members praised the chapters responsible for the smooth delivery and pickup of the quilts for judging. Carole reminded members to keep the muslin squares on their quilts although they can be repositioned so that the label will be viewable at the show. Charity quilt sales are close to $6100. NO MEMBERS WILL BE ABLE TO PICK UP THEIR QUILTS FROM THE SHOWCASE PRIOR TO 5:30 PM!!!!

The new afternoon chapter at the Bradenton Recreation Center had its first meeting on January 15th and there were 12 new members added to the roster.

There will be a budget meeting in March. Lucie will send out an email to all chapter treasurers as to time and place.

Alice Nicolas and Micki MacCumbee have been approached about a holding a quilting cruise in November. Anyone who has participated in such a cruise is asked to contact Alice or Micki to share their experience.

Marilyn Paluszak proposed a long range planning committee for the Quilting Guild. Alice Nicholas agreed and asked Marilyn to chair this special committee. Members with suggestions and volunteers are asked to contact her at Webmaster@QGOTV.org.

The Sunshine State Quilters Association announced their disbandment.
