The regular meeting of the Quilting Guild of The Villages was held July 5, 2011.

The meeting was called to order by President Jeanette Flint at 7:00 p.m.

The Pledge of Allegiance was said by the members.

The secretary's report was read by Dale Angione.  A motion to accept the report was entered by Regina Wolfe and seconded by Nancy Wiljunis.

The treasurer's report was read by Beth Bender.  We now have 628 paid members as of July 1, 2011.

Jeanette Flint asked for the chapter vote from the chapters that have not called in their vote to Ann Moroz for the Vendor Showcase to contact Ann by the end of the meeting.

Vice-President Micki Maccumbee announced the following classes to be taught by outside teachers:
       September 7 - working with Texture Magic in a table runner by stitching My Memories
       October 5 - Marianne Williamson - Light and the Creation of Textile Art
       February 8 - Machine Trapunto by Mark Sherman
       March 7 - Fancy Stitches by Alice Means
       April 4 - Instant Art Quilt

The following classes are to be taught by inside teachers:
       July 20 - Stack and Whack by Dale Angione
       July 28 - Beginning Needle turn Appliqué by Jackie Whitehead
       August 17 - Two-Tone Pacific Rim Quilts by Dale Angione
       September 16 - Machine Appliqué Stitching by Mary Shara
       October 16 - Perfect Paper Piecing by Dale Angione
       November 9 - Celtic Knot by Dale Angione
       November 30 - A Little Somethin' Jacket by Dale Angione

Samples and sign-up sheets are available at the back of the room.

Next month's meeting will feature Whippoorwill Station. The topic will be a Jump on the Holidays.

Jeanette Flint announced that A Quilter's Dream in Leesburg will be honoring all Guild membership cards for a 25% discount on fabric on July 26th; minimum one yard cuts.

The members were then invited to partake in the ice cream social.

While enjoying their ice cream the members were treated to a program on the history of the Guild.  Past presidents Macky Nylin, Dale Angione and Cheryle Hahnfeldt were recognized.

There were 42 participants in the Show and Tell and 8 winners in the 50/50

The meeting was adjourned at 8:20 p.m.
