The regular meeting of the Quilting Guild of The Villages was held June 7, 2011.

The meeting was called to order by President Jeanette Flint.

The Pledge of Allegiance was recited by the members.

The May minutes were read by Dale Angione. A correction to the minutes was made noting that the thank you note was from the Lady Lake Christian Food Pantry and not St. Theresa's.

The treasurer's report was read by Beth Bender.  There are 627 paid guild members.

President Flint read a thank you note from St. Theresa's Soup Kitchen thanking the Guild for their generous donation.

Vice-President Micki MacCumbee announced the upcoming programs:

      July - Ice cream social
               Stack - n - Whack class by Dale Angione July 20
               Beginning Needleturn class by Jackie Whitehead July 28

      August - Jump on Christmas
               Two Tone Pacific Rim class by Dale Angione August 17

      September - Stitching My Memories
               Machine Applique class by Mary Shara September 16
               Table runner class using texture magic September 7

Up coming classes include Light and the Creation of Textile Art by Marianne Williamson on October 5, Machine Trapunto by Mark Sherman on Feb.8 and Fancy Stitches by Alice Means on March 7.

The next meeting of the program committee is Tuesday, June 28.

Micki MacCumbee presented our guest for the evening, Joy Dudis, who presented an entertaining talk on "R" Decorating.

There were 13 items displayed at Show and Tell and there were 5 winners of the 50/50.
