The regular meeting of the Quilting Guild of The Villages was held March 1, 2011.
The meeting was called to order by President Jeannette Flint at 7:00 pm and the Pledge of Allegiance was recited by the members.
Beth Bender gave the treasurer's report as well as a report of donations made by the guild. In addition to cash donations, over 1,700 sewn items were donated by our members in 2010. Currently there are 601 paid guild members. Patty Vandenberg moved to accept the treasurer's report seconded by Joyce Doig and carried.
The secretary's report was read and Nancy Wildzunas moved to accept the report seconded by Patty Vandenberg and carried.
Judy Hanley announced that her chapter participated in donating packets of underwear to local quilt shops for needy children. The shops gave fabric to those who donated and this fabric will be used for charity quilts. Judy encouraged other chapters to participate in this worthy cause.
No further business was conducted as members were participating in a 'garage sale' this evening.
