1) President Lucie Verbois acknowledged all May birthdays. Refreshments were served and the meeting was called to order at 9:20. Lucie led the membership in the Pledge of Allegiance.
2) Bobbie Welter presented 31 quilts to Rich and Gerri from USA Cares and 31 quilts to Barbara from the Haven House. Jill Sherman from the Daily Sun was present.
3) The secretary's report was read. A motion was made by Joan Henry and seconded by Pat Wallace to accept the minutes as read. The motion was passed.
4) The fat quarter drawings were won by Mary Ann Pankowski, Peach Poulin, Brook Black, Joan Henry and Madaline Montgomery. Next month's fat quarter exchange will be 30's reproduction fabrics.
5) The treasurer's report was read. A motion was made by Joan Henry and seconded by Anita Kimsal to accept the report as read. The motion was passed.
6) Program report:
a) May 31 - We will be hosting Sunset Pointe. Quilter's Dream will be here to give a trunk show. Ann Moroz will chair the refreshments. She is expecting 25 Sunset Pointe members to join us. She asked that each of our members bring a food item. The theme will be red, white and blue for Memorial Day.
b) June 7 - Quilted Tote Bar - Denise Lasley
c) June 14 - Security Lecture - Joe Pine
d) June 21 - Flag Quilt - Joan Henry
e) June 28 - UFO Show and Tell
7) Chapter Retreat: Mary Ann reported the retreat is closed with 25 members signed up.
8) Executive Board:
a) Tonia reported that the guild has 627 members.
b) According to our CPA there is no limit on the amount of funds that can be kept in the guild treasury and the individual chapter treasuries as long as we keep our not-for-profit purpose.
c) After the chapters turn in their donated fat quarters for the guild charity quilt, the remaining fabric needed will be purchased by the guild.
d) Baby quilts have been requested by Healthy Start. Some chapters are making a one-time donation.
e) The Quilt Trolley will be at the Hampton Inn the second Tuesday and Wednesday beginning in October.
9) Guild Programs:
a) June 7 - Joy Dudis
b) Check in bulletin board for changes in the coming months programs.
10) Guild Classes:
a) Beginning in September Marge Jensen will be in charge of signing up our chapter members for Guild classes and collecting the $10.
b) August 17 - Dale Angione - Pacific Rim two tone appliqué is filled
11) Refreshments: Madaline thanked everyone for the refreshments that were brought in today. She still has openings in August and in the fall.
12) Charity Quilts:
a) Bobbie still has 45 quilts at home to be donated at a later date.
b) There is batting and fabric in the back.
c) Quilts of Valor are looking for quilters to put squares together for them.
13) Library:
a) Barbara won't be here next library day but she will help any member on one of the other Tuesdays.
14) Blotto:
a) The drawing for the blotto was won by Nella Rose.
b) Gail Richards will have the blotto for next month.
15) Announcements:
a) 2 photos are on the bulletin board with info on quilting cruises.
b) On May 25 Quilters Dream will have 25% off.
c) Eileen Delaney had knee replacement yesterday.
d) CERT and The Haven House pamphlets are up front.
e) The gift basket was won by Robyn Patterson.
f) Show and Tell featured beautiful quilts, wall hangings, purses and other items made by our members.
16) Meeting was adjourned at 10:05.
