1) President Lucie Verbois acknowledged all June birthdays and guests. Refreshments were served and the meeting was called to order at 9:20. Lucie led the membership in the Pledge of Allegiance.
2) The secretary's report was read. A motion was made by Donna Blodgett and seconded by Patty Rizzo to accept the minutes as read. The motion was passed. The treasurer's report was read. A motion was made by Joan Henry and seconded by Gail Rathgeber to accept the report as read. The motion was passed.
3) Program report:
a) July 26th - Quilter's Dream is having a 25% off sale for all Mulberry members from 10 - 4.
b) August 9th and 16th - Charity quilts
c) August 30th - Shop Hop
4) Executive Board:
a) Ann reported that the guild has 628 members.
b) August 14th - McCall's Tavern is having an Art Show. If anyone is interested in exhibiting quilts or giving a demo, please call Jeanette Flint 750-3055.
c) Marline Hartman has a 1950's Sears machine and cabinet for sale
d) Ann Moroz has brought a proposal to the board to have a Vender Expo on the even years opposite from the quilt show. After a short discussion, a vote was passed in favor of the project.
e) The By-Law committee has presented some changes to the by-laws. They will be emailed to everyone for their consideration and a vote will be taken at a later date.
5) Guild Programs:
a) July 5th - Patriotic Show and Tell and Ice Cream Social.
b) Aug 2nd - Christmas Show and Tell
c) Sept. 6th - Stitching My Memories Trunk Show
6) Guild Classes:
a) All guild classes will now be held at the new Sumter County Library on Rt. 466A.
b) July 20th (Wed.) - Dale Angione - Stack N Whack
c) July 28th (Thurs.) - Jackie Whitehead - needle turn appliqué
d) Sept. 15th ( Thurs.) - Mary Shara - machine appliqué.
7) Chapter Retreat:
a) The final payment is due in November.
8) Fall Retreat:
a) The final payment is due by the 1st week in August
9) Blotto:
a) Lucie won the 19 blocks.
10) Library:
a) Barbara will be highlighting Christmas books at the next library day.
11) The fat quarter drawings were won by Lois Carder, Brooke Black, Joan Henry and Lucie Verbois. Next month's fat quarter will be a CHRISTMAS print.
12) UFO's
a) 10 out of 18 projects were completed and Bobbie Welter won the prize for finishing this quarter. The #2 project is due by Sept. 27th.
13) Old Business:
a) Gail Richards showed a partial quilt made from the blocks that were brought in. She thanked everyone for their scraps, batting and backing.
14) New Business:
a) Next month's blotto was presented by Mary Ann Pankowski. She is providing two fabrics: a victorian print and a matching purple fabric. Use any pattern you wish to make a 9 ½ in squared block and you can add other fabrics if you want.
b) The gift basket was won by Anita Kimsal.
c) We have been asked to make 6 squares for the charity quilt. They are due by Sept. 30th - see Lucie if you are interested.
d) Mary Ann Pankowski will be in charge of the July meeting. Please let her know if you wish to be put on the agenda.
e) Show and Tell featured beautiful quilts, wall hangings, totes and other items made by our members.
