Lisa-Marie Sanders amused us all as she recounted her journey through the world of quilting, all of which started because her mother-in-law asked her to attend a quilt quild meeting which led to her love of quilting.  A fiber artist and author of "Quilting With Aliens," Lisa-Marie's lecture was entitled, "Everything I needed to know in life, I learned by quilting."  Her trunk show reflected her growth and experimentation into the art of quilt making.

Susy Golden, from SeaBreeze Chapter, has volunteered to spearhead creation of a donation quilt for the Showcase of Quilts 2013. This is a wonderful way to create a donation quilt worthy of The Villages. It will give every Chapter an opportunity to participate in its making, while providing the level of detail required to produce a quality quilt. Each Chapter will provide 12 fat quarters of batiks; SeaBreeze members will do all the cutting to ensure uniformity; then each Chapter will be asked to have one or more master sewers construct 3-4 blocks and return them to SeaBreeze so they can piece the top. The Guild's Showcase of Quilts 2013 Committee will pay for a professional long-arm quilter to finish the quilt. The result will be a king-size bed quilt and two pillow shams worthy of any Florida bedroom!
