QUILTING B'S CHAPTER NEWS: JAN-FEB 2012
We are going to the United Methodist Life Enrichment Center for our annual retreat. If anyone needs directions ask Judy Porter or Beth Bender or any of the ladies from years past.
As always, we can arrive anytime after 12:00 on Tuesday and plan to leave after lunch on Thursday. Tuesday dinner is provided, Wednesday all three meals are provided, Thursday breakfast and lunch is provided.
There are two small projects planned:
The big project is a log cabin variation called Thinking Outside the Block. You can do a small project - table runner - or any of several sizes. I think most people have the fabric requirements and pattern.
A fun project is the "jelly roll race." One jelly roll will make a throw quilt. If you are curious about this project, Google "jelly roll race" and you can see it being done. You can cut about 40 strips 2 ½" wide, width of fabric, from your stash and have your own jelly roll. Just make sure you have at least 10 different fabrics.
Please bring your sewing machine, rulers, cutters, cutting board, a cushion/pillow to sit on, marking pens, pins, scissors, seam ripper, fabric, a $10.00 wrapped gift to share (can be a regifting item), snack for the table, soft drinks and a cup (ice is available as is a refrigerator and microwave, coffee is always available in the reception area), favorite CD, and other stuff to work on as the projects may not take all of your time.
