The members who worked on the Hospice quilt project were:

Please remember to save and organize the items you would like to sell at this event, and if you plan to sell items, please sign- up at a meeting or email Cathy Barlow so that a table can be reserved for you.

Rooms in Villages' recreation centers have been secured for future visiting artist classes and in-house workshps, rather than using the library on 466A. Visiting artist classes will generally be held on the first Wednesday of each month in the Ashley Wilkes room at Savannah Center. The Clearwater room at Seabreeze has been reserved for the third Wednesday of each month for in house workshops. The rooms may be used by individual chapters for classes if they aren't booked by another workshop. Micki MacCumbee and Jill Smithson will maintain the schedule for both rooms.
Miki requested she be notified via e-mail if anyone is interested in entering their decorated golf cart in the Christmas Golf Cart Parade. Micki MacCumbee will e-mail back providing all details for this event to anyone interested.
OLD BUSINESS:
4H: Carol Fox informed the group of her pending move and that only 3 girls out of the original 5 were attending the meetings. While it appears that there is a lack of interest in this project by the girls, Carol has still put a schedule together for future meetings. However, she is unsure if Allamanda will continue with a new leader from our group or if some of the girls' mothers will take the lead should there be an interest on the part of the girls. Cathy Barlow requested that if anyone was interested in volunteering to replace Carol as the Leader of this project contact her.
2013 Dues: The annual $15 dues include $5 that is sent to the Guild and $10 for Allamanda's treasury. In order to coordinate the necessary paperwork and ensure that Guild 2013 membership cards are issued in time for you to obtain FREE admission to the Showcase in January, please pay your dues by December 1st. Dues should be paid to Dee Dean by check, made payable to Allamanda Quilters.
HOLIDAY PARTY: Joan Keltner is taking reservations for the holiday party. The cost is $15. Please see her at a future meeting (or mail a check to her home) by November 27th if you plan to attend the party.
SHOWCASE 2013: There are 203 entries plus 33 challenge quilt entries.
ALLAMANDA BANNER has been turned into the Showcase Committee.
SILENT AUCTION. Each chapter is required to submit items representing 10% of their membership. For Allamanda that is at least 8 items. Any quilted items such as wall hangings, table runners, tote bags, placemats and quilts (no bigger than twin size) would be acceptable. At least 6 more items are needed and donations will be accepted through the end of December. Please let Cathy Barlow know if you would be able to donate something on behalf of the Allamanda chapter.
SHOWCASE BOUTIQUE. Suzanne Brown's reported on items collected. The chapter will receive 83% of the price (7% goes to State for taxes and 10% goes to the Guild as commission). Please e-mail or contact Suzanne and or Cathy with any pricing suggestions.
The same breakdown applies to the selling of personal items at the Boutique. Suzanne will share more about rules for what can be submitted but if a quilt shop sells the pattern for an item, then it can be sold in the boutique. Contact Suzanne to ensure your items meet the guidelines should you desire to be an individual seller. She will also provide you with numbered tags (identifying you as the seller) for your items.
The Boutique is looking for volunteers to work during the Showcase. If you're interested, e-mail Suzanne or see her at next week's meeting.
OTHER VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES. Other chapters are looking for Guild members to help them fill their open shifts for their responsibilities. Sign up if interested at the December Guild Meeting or contact Cathy Barlow to put you in touch with the right people to volunteer for things like the boutique, angels, parking attendants, etc. Please help out where you can.
CHARITY QUILT. Please see the web site for the status of all donations. Deland proceeds totaled $507 for the two days. As a member of the Guild, everyone is encouraged to support our organization's charity work by purchasing tickets for the donation quilt. Cathy Barlow has tickets available for purchase at each meeting. The holidays are a great time to take some tickets to sell to family & friends!
VOLUNTEER RESPONSIBILITIES. Judging Days & Showcase Days-Allamanda's volunteer positions are currently filled, but if you'd like to be a back-up that can be called if someone finds they have to cancel, please e-mail Cathy Barlow
