Minutes of the previous meeting should reflect that an amount of $300 was approved for 4-H expenses for 2013.
Treasurer's Report:
Both Guild and Allamanda treasurer's reports are on file. Contact Dee Dean for information.
Programs:
In-house teacher list is posted on the bulletin board. If members are interested, we can have an Allamanda-only class. Let Joan Keltner know if of your interest.
Rose (from Mulberry) will do a trunk show of her quilts for us in the spring. She just won 2nd place in the appliqué wall hanging category in Jacksonville.
Guild Garage Sale will be January 8 from 8:30 - 11:30 AM at Paradise Rec Center.
Call Jill Smithson if you're interested in forming a QGOTV quilting bee. You will be able to use the Savannah Center rooms when they're available. A February 2nd doodling bee is already set up.
Refer to the guild website for information on all of these classes.
Old Business:
Holiday Luncheon - Thanks to Joan Keltner and her committee (Nancy Wilcox, Marlene Jensch, & BJ Herter). Joan has volunteered to organize next year's luncheon.
Community Service - According to Carol Fox, the 4-H volunteers will take the 4-H girls to our quilt show and pay their admission.
2013 Dues - All dues have been paid to the Guild. You must pick up your membership card before the quilt show to receive free admission.
Showcase 2013:
General Information - The boutique needs large shopping bags. Bring them in next week for Suzanne Brown.
Our commitment to the Silent Auction has been met. Thank you to those of you who donated.
Charity Quilt tickets will be available for purchase at the Showcase.
Volunteer Responsibilities - All our spots have been filled other than back-up slots. If you have more time, consider helping out the other committees.
A training session meeting will be held on January 9th at 4:30. Cathy will send out a note with details to our volunteers.
New Business:
Thank you to Regina Bozza and Sharon Musch for serving as officers for the past year. Joan Keltner was installed as the new VP and Terry Murphy as Secretary for 2013-2014.
Sharon Musch will be co-chair for Showcase 2015.
2013 Member-at-Large - Besides the president, each chapter brings an additional person to Guild Executive Board meetings, called a "member-at-large". Marilyn has served in this capacity for the last couple of years. If this is something that you would like to participate in, let Cathy Barlow know.
Service Committee - A new committee has been formed to organize our charity and service efforts. The committee is in the process of selecting a project that would serve not only as a learning tool but would also produce quilts to donate to a worthy organization. More experienced members will help lesser experienced ones. A sample for the first style of quilt to be made was shown. The committee will present their finalized plan to the membership at the January business meeting including a budget. In the meantime, decide if you want to participate and take a look at your fabric stash and decide if there is any that you would like to donate to this worthwhile cause.
A-BOM - Pat O'Connor will take over our Allamanda Block of the Month starting in January. For those who made the Christmas present block, please bring them to the meeting in January.
