PIECEMAKERS CHAPTER NEWS: MARCH 2012
Like the winds, March has come and gone. The March winds took some of our snowbirds home to the north. We miss you all and await your return. Please do keep in touch by emailing Esther, Barbara, or some other member of our club.
The Piecemakers had the B's Quilting Chapter over for brunch and show and tell. During the show and tell Margaret Kovalchik, a recent winner of Block of the Month showed her completed quilt. A new member, Barbara Morrow was chosen by "Block of the Month" organizer, Jill Swanson, for the next Block of the Month. Thanks for your work Jill.
Along with personal quilt projects the Piecemakers showed some of the quilts they have created for the Ocala Ritz Vet Home that is about to open. Sandie De Vris, president of the B's showed a tote bag and is going to do a workshop on it in April.
Due to illnesses, overload, and such a few changes were made to the officers of the group. Ginger Fullmer who was to take over treasurer and awaiting recovery from an ankle injury has recently learned that she will require surgery. Thus, Delores Korff will be the new treasurer. Thanks for volunteering Delores.
In addition, Ann Vogel, also dealing with health issues has recently returned to the meetings and resuming her role as our Chair person for the Showcase of Quilts 2013, Demonstrations Committee. We are happy to have her back. Esther Meinhardt had been covering meetings in her absence. Ann was also in charge of "Sunshine" and not wanting to over-due; felt it would be best if someone else took her place. Wanda Marsh volunteered to do so. Thanks, Wanda.
Brenda Barkley continues to improve the Piecemakers' newsletter so that members unable to be at the meetings can be informed about what we are doing in their absence. Thanks Brenda.
