STERLING STITCHERS CHAPTER MINUTES:  MARCH 6, 2012
The meeting was started off with a wonderful guest demo by Kathy Bluemling & MaryAnn Caggiano from the Lake Miona chapter. They did an excellent presentation on the Spicy Spiral Table Runner.

Meeting called to order at 9:20 a.m. by President Judy Short
--Secretary's Report approved as read
--Treasurer's Report approved as read with an ending balance of $682.80

VP Report--in Chris's absence Judy gave a brief update on some of the classes the Guild is offering, Please check out the Guild website for information on all these classes.

Donna Tyndall's Executive Board report was given. Market Place was a huge success with an approx. profit of $11,000. It will be held on alternating years.

Project Chair, Donna R. shared information on Sharkey's in Wildwood for sewing machine maintenance.

A vote was taken on the Charity that will receive the proceeds from the ticket sales for the Charity Quilt. These results were sent to Carole Schroeder.

Carol Van Noy gave a report on a retreat to be held on Sept. 11-13 at Lake Yale in Leesburg. It was decided to enter into a contract for these dates. We will need to have 26 participants.  A Retreat Committee was formed with the following members:  Carol, Donna R., Marilyn D., Joanne, Terry, Cathie C., & Pat,

Fundraising--We discussed the need for ideas with the 2013 Boutique being one of our choices. We decided to have people share possible items in the coming weeks.  It was decided to start a 50/50 Drawing at each of our meetings.  Donnie agreed to organize this activity. We also discussed having a White Elephant table on the 1st meeting of each  month.

Sister Chapter Allamanda was looking for members to participate in some meetings as preparation for our duties at the 2013 Quilt Show. Members volunteering for this committee:
Gwen, Ginger, Joy & Bette M.

Hearts & Hands--After some discussion it was decided that we need to organize and direct our charity endeavors.  Marilyn D., will head this up with a committee to be formed to assist.  Our first goal is to have all children's quilts that we had started completed and search for a benefactor.
