President Judy Short called the meeting to order at 8:35 am.
SECRETARY'S REPORT -We will dispensed with the reading of the minutes since they are posted on the Sterling Stitchers forum and also on the QGOTV website. I will also email a copy to the membership. Please let me know if any corrections need to be made.
TREASURER'S REPORT -Joanne shared the report and it was approved as read.
EXECUTIVE BOARD REPORT: Donna T. shared the minutes from the last meeting. --They have decided on the design for the 20 yr pins and past presidents' pins.
--They are looking for an alternate location for MarketPlace 2014 due to a safety concern with the electrical being run to the center of the room.
--We are hosts for the Sept. 2012 Guild Meeting.
PROGRAM CHAIR REPORT: Chris stated that the Bulletin Board is updated with all the new class offerings. During the summer the Guild will be doing some different activities at the monthly meeting. June: Left, Right, Center game July: Ice Cream Social August: Suduko activity
HEARTS & HANDS: Marilyn shared that a bolt of batting had been purchased for our chapter-Warm & Natural 90" x 40 yards. We also have labels for our quilts designed by Judy Short. We are making wonderful progress on our quilts-keep up the good work! She also shared a "Thank You" card from the Christian Care Center Children's Shelter for the first round of quilts that were donated.
QUILTING OF HEARTS & HANDS QUILTS: Judy asked if any members would be willing to do some free motion quilting to let us know. Otherwise she will plan to try to do some of the quilts on her long arm while visiting her sister in Deland.
RETREAT UPDATE: Carol reminded those attending the retreat that the final payment is due prior to June 26th. If you are leaving for the summer it might be best to make your payment prior to leaving.
FUNDRAISING: While the Garage Sale was a big SUCCESS and the 50/50 brings in a steady trickle of extra funds, fundraising will still be an ongoing concern. We had a good discussion about some possibilities for the future. Bring in any "Make A Mix" recipes you might have to our meeting next week as we pursue this idea further.
CHARITY QUILT TICKETS: Deanna & Doreen will be selling them all year. Please see them if you have not purchased your tickets yet.
LUNCH BUNCH: Today was the sign-up for the May 8 Lunch gathering. We will be going to Cotillion in Wildwood.
AUGUST 14th ACTIVITY: Since we will be unable to use the Sterling Heights facility on this date we are looking into an alternate activity. Road trip . . . bus trip???

Houston International Quilt Show: The Florida Cabin Fever Quilt Guild is sponsoring a bus trip to Houston, Oct. 31-Nov. 4. They will even make a stop in Wildwood to pick us up. Check out the link:
