Meeting called to order at 8:37 a.m. by President Judy Short
--New Members & Guests were welcomed and introduced
--Secretary's Report approved (posted on website)
--Treasurer's Report approved as read-Reminder: The treasurer's books are open for viewing at any time, please see Joanne if you have any questions.
--VP/Program Chair Report-Chris gave a brief report that the new FALL Classes were on the Display Board-Check Them Out. Also, a reminder that we will serve as hostesses at the Sept. 4 Guild Meeting. Sign-Up sent around.
--Guild Rep: Donna gave a short report re-emphasizing that the Quilting Guild of The Villages is a Charity organization. She also talked about the tote-bags that were made from leftover fabrics from the Charity Quilt by Sea Breeze. This tote is to be awarded to the member in our chapter that sells the most raffle tickets.
--Activities Report
--Jill reported that the July LUNCH BUNCH will be going to Glenview Country Club on July 10th.
--A Road Trip to the Quilt Museum is in the works to be rescheduled after being cancelled due to the excessive rainfall.
--It was decided that our August 14th Road Trip will be to Rainbow's End in Dunedin. Jill will call the shop to let them know we are coming.
--Education:
No report due to Donna R's absence
--Fundraising:
It was reported that since March, 2012 our weekly 50/50 drawing has brought in $328.00
--Hearts & Hands:
- Marilyn D. reported that an ongoing list of our quilt donations & pictures can be viewed on the Sterling Stitchers forum.
-We have 9 completed quilts & pillowcases ready for delivery to the Christian Care Center and 4 completed quilts & tote bags ready to be delivered to the Moffitt Center
-There are 3 kits available to be made into quilts
-Scrappy quilts of your own choosing are always welcome
-We have been contacted by The Giving Dolls for more doll quilts. Remember they need to be 24" x 24". We still have a substantial amount of fleece for the backing.

Showcase/MarketPlace:
-This committee will work to be prepared to meeting our responsibilities for these upcoming Quilt Guild events.
-A sign-up sheet was sent around for members to join this committee.
-Our Banner is an immediate concern to see it through to completion. Meetings need to be scheduled outside of our normal times to work on the banner.
-This year we are shadowing Allamanda as runners at the Quilt Showcase.
--Chinese Auction Items-we need to provide 3 items to the Guild to be auctioned at the Showcase. These need to be items we have made. It was discussed that a table runner had been donated already.
Retreat:
--Joanne gave a quick update on our upcoming Sept. retreat in Carol's absence
OLD BUSINESS:
-Raffle Tickets: Remember to see Doreen or Deanna to get your tickets
-Sister Meeting with Allamanda on July 24th at 9:00
--We will be providing breakfast food items-a sign-up sheet was sent around.
--Jill made a motion that was seconded by Sandy P. that we hold a small Chinese auction during this gathering. We have three items to be auctioned off. . .Quilt stand & game donated by Gretchen and an Antique Quilt donated by Judy S. Judy will also contact Alamanda to let them know that the auction will be held.
Bylaws:
--The officers met and came up with the Sterling Stitchers Quilt Chapter Bylaws.
--The timeline is as follows:
JULY Business Meeting-hand-out copy of bylaws to members
AUGUST Business Meeting-discuss the bylaws (changes, concerns, etc)
SEPTEMBER Business Meeting-Vote to approve bylaws
--Based on the bylaws a Nomination Committee needs to be formed in September. Two members & an officer (not up for re-election) will be on this committee. Offices up for election in 2012 are: Vice President, Secretary & Guild Rep. Please let an officer know if you are interested in being on this committee.
--July Birthdays were acknowledged-HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
