Marie Anderson brought her generous and enthusiastic spirit to the Quilting Guild of The Villages this March. During a whirlwind visit, she and her team from Material Girl Quilt Shop in nearby Eustis (36844 Hart Ranch Road) taught five workshops over a three-day period and brought her trunk show to the Guild meeting! She not only showed us a fun time quilting, but how to complete a project at the same time (as evidenced by the Show-n-Tell, below). As if this were not enough, she demonstrated a new technique for making pineapple blocks with a special ruler/cutting guide that takes the scare out of bias stripping; no more paper piecing required. Marie has closed her shop for the month of March to come here, as well as to bring those beautiful Bigfoot Bay Cotton Company patterns and kits to several upcoming Florida quilt shows.

é Marge modified the 10-block table runner from Marie Anderson's workshop (from 2 rows of 5 blocks each) to one very L-O-N-G row of 10 blocks. No, it isn't really a scarf. Done in deep greens and reds, this will make the perfect table topper for holiday decorations, come December.
