Allamanda's new Service Committee was happy to kick start our first project on February 5th. We started with a quick talk and handout about color and moved right into fabric selection and organizational tips. After a quick review about how to get started, it was fun to see everyone jump into the fray to cut up the batting and sort through the donated fabrics. We'll meet as a group the first Tuesday of every month to share accomplishments and next steps. Meanwhile, we hope that this pairing of new and experienced quilters will have everyone sharing progress at other Allamanda meetings. New quilters are encouraged to ask other project quilters or any Service Committee member for help or to simply verify that they are on the right track. This Chat & Sew program is all about sharing and enjoying quilting while making sturdy quilts worthy of donation to those who will appreciate a very special blanket of love. Is that a song??
