MULBERRY CHAPTER NEWS:  APRIL 2, 2013
Mary Ann Pankowski opened the meeting at 9:00 a.m. with birthday announcements, introduction of guests, and refreshments.

The meeting was started at 9:28 with the Pledge of Allegiance.

Carol Knoll read the secretary's report in Donna's absence.  Motion to accept was made by Betty Sergent and seconded by Joan Henry.

Carol Knoll read the Treasurer's report. Motion to accept was made by Dale Angione and seconded by Vi Landwehr.

The Quilt Show committee has requested that each chapter give 3 suggestions as to what committee they would like to be in charge of.  After discussion, the following committees were selected:  Ribbons; Greeters, Demos. 

Joan Henry - 1st set of quilts will be donated to Angel Flight, date to be announced later.

Patty Rizzo - there will be a coiled basket class on 4/16 at a cost of $10.00. See Patty to sign up and get the supply list.  You will need a sewing machine.  Demo day will be May 21.

Robin - shop hop cost is $25.  The bus will be at Mulberry at 7:45 a.m.  We will go to Boutique for Quilters, have lunch at Ruby Tuesdays and then go to The Quilt Place.

Barb asked for recommendations for new books. She has collected $234 from the book sales this year.

Lois Carder said that you can give your completed ornament to her whenever you are ready.

Shirts - Custom Apparel - color is deep berry and cost is $25.00 and up.

Ann Moroz - UFO's - Marge Jensen won the drawing for the completed projects.  Project #4 will be due at the July meeting.

Ann Moroz announced that the Haven will receive the proceeds from the 2013 Showcase of Quilts in the amount of $10,784.25.  The check will be presented at tonight's guild meeting.

Showcase 2015 - A vote was taken on the proposals:  Charity Quilt - no (unanimous); Money to Charity from treasury - 3 votes in favor; money used for Education - 43 votes in favor; Allow non quilted items - 47 no votes.  Dale asked for a volunteer to be a representative to the Showcase of Quilts (this is in addition to the committee chairperson). You will act as a liaison between the Showcase committee and the chapter and be responsible for bringing them any questions from the chapter and reporting back to the chapter with information on the progress of the showcase.  Carol La Fleur volunteered.

Board Meeting - Chatham will be having a bus trip to Rainbow's End, if you are interested call Joy Lynch 753-6545.

Program Committee - Patty Wallace announced that Nancy Mahoney will be giving two workshops in May.

Barb Fairley asked for volunteers for refreshments in May and June.

Blotto was won by Madge Sheffler.  Tonia Brock presented the next blotto.

Fat Quarters won by Carol Shephard, Karen Estep, Betty Millard and Patty Wallace.

Raffle won by Lucie Verbois.

Meeting was adjourned at 10:35 with the display of beautiful quilted items.
