Quilting Guild of The Villages (QGOTV)

President Kathi Hronchek called the meeting to order at 6:30 pm.

Secretary’s Report – The minutes of the April 22, 2013 meeting were approved.

Treasurer’s Report – Penny Gibson is acting chapter Treasurer for summer and presented updated information for members. Penny reported 4 new members have joined over last two weeks bringing PG Chapter roster to 40 members. Penny will notify QGOTV Membership with the updates.

President’s Report: Kathi said that each chapter of guild required to send a representative to Showcase 2015 monthly meetings held 1st Tuesday every month starting at 6 pm at Laurel Manor Rec which is prior to the monthly guild program meeting which starts at 7 pm. Judy Ozbun volunteered to represent PG Chapter. PG will be hosting chapter for July’s Guild meeting on Tuesday, July 2, 2013. Kathi reported that Healthy Start was presented 18 quilts before tonight’s meeting. Healthy Start Representative will bring pictures of babies and quilts on her next visit.

Delaine asked about wreath pattern for fall project. Pat reported Cherry Blossom Quilt Studios will give us $5 wholesale price for pattern. Arlene is keeping sign up list.

There will be a Craft Show @ Hospital in October and Carol said that donations are needed and appreciated. PG member donations need to be reported as part of chapter’s charitable amount.

Cathy said that 21 pillowcases were given recently to Pillowcase for Smiles effort.

Penny reported on her inquiry call to Sew Mini Things about a class for PG Chapter. Shop Owner Tim quoted cost of $200 for all day class plus kit charge of $52 each for Stonehenge Christmas Panel kits that come in green, red, and blue. Pre-quilted kits are an additional $20 per kit. Penny is contacting Tim with follow up inquiry questions. Project for fall.

Kathi reminded members that PG fabric swaps for summer are June-Yellow, July-Purple, and August-Brown. These are full half-yard cuts of stated color.

There were 7 members attending last Saturday’s Sew Day. Next scheduled Saturday Sew Day is August 10th. Members can work on any project of choice and should bring machines and lunch.
