Many thanks to Allamanda's Jo Loder
Jo spearheaded tonight's sit-n-sew with a simple patriotic themed nine-patch square based on a quilt she made after participating in a similar program in her former guild up north. As members arrived they were given a bag of precut fabrics, instructions and a little 2" square for marking seam lines.
Before the meeting could start, people were already sewing! Some members made one, some made more, but by the end of the evening, names were drawn from the list of those who finished squares. Fourteen members went home with a stack of completed squares -- enough to be the centerpiece of their own, unique patriotic quilt.
