It was a mystery to everyone! Well, not to our lecturers ....
Theresa Ward and Sharon Lorfing wowed us with their mystery quilts during a photo presentation to augment the quilts and patterns they brought to share. These ladies started by attending a workshop and now have a thriving business sharing their love for the intricacies of creating a quilt pattern and instructions that allow participants to work on a quilt and not be able to "see it" until the final stage of putting the blocks together. You can find them by searching by either of their names or Always Quilts on Facebook or Pinterest. To purchase a PDF quilt pattern, they have an Etsy online store at
Also look for their shop by searching either of their names (Theresa Ward or Sharon Lorfing) at the Etsy website: www.etsy.com
Click on the Tesillated Cat photo (left) for a closer look. When it popped up on the screen, you could hear people in the audience say, "It's upside down." The rest of us were shaking our heads and said, "No, it isn't." And then we were invited to take another look. It is no wonder you can work on a Mystery Quilt and not know what it will look like until you have it together. Those tesillated cats prove the point and are a whole lot easier to SEE when you get two quilts, side-by-side. Some saw black cats and others saw white cats, upside down, before we got straightened out!!

I really do apologize for the blurry photos ... using a new camera and it seems its focus didn't change as fast as I moved from close-up of the number ticket to the distance of the quilt photo. This is what being in a rush does and we'll be working on that to correct the problem ~MP, your red-faced webmaster
