Our hats were off to Juanita Yeager, who says, "My art is about color; it warms my heart and sings to my soul."
What a great way to look at quilting.  Those of us fortunate enough to be at the November Guild meeting came away knowing exactly what that means ... Juanita's humor and love of quilting made for a fun night.  There were several "Ah" moments as the pile of quilts unfolded . . . all colorful and many whimsical, it was fun to hear how they evolved just as she has since 1983 when she took her first stab at quilting.  Today, Juanita likes to hand dye and paint her cotton and silk fabrics; she also uses a two-layered approach to batting:  using a combination of Warm & Natural and wool batting that keeps her quilts wrinkle free.  Check out her website at:

GUEST LECTURER JUANITA YEAGER
This Gemini Star is from the October Mystery Quilt workshop conducted by Theresa Ward and Sharon Lorfing.
Teresa Hatfield and Beth Bender were elected and sworn in at the November Guild meeting for respective two-year terms as Guild Treasurer and President.  They will take office on  January 1, 2014 and serve through December 31, 2015.  The Candle Ceremony was conducted by outgoing Guild President Alice Nicholas.  Typically performed at the December Guild meeting, this one time exception was done to accommodate a prior commitment.
